Curly Hair Updos

Here Come the Curls - Curly Hair Updos.

The groom is ready, the ring is beautiful, and the dress is like no other. Your hair is, well, curly! The bride to be has an endless array of options in regards to her wedding day hair. The traditional updo is no longer the only choice. Whether you have short, medium or long curly hair, there is a sophisticated look just waiting for you. The updated updo works for any length of curly hair. Hair accessories are also flexible with the look of curls. A gorgeous veil to a tiara carrying the bling, a crown of glory is easy to achieve.

For short and medium hair, the updo consists of very neat braids being gathered to the back. Wisp of hair in the front and the sides frame the face in a soft way. The texture and wave of the hair is styled to be noticed. Some choose to style simply and beautiful, with no fuss and accessories being kept to a minimum. This is a very personal look and one that you should be able to look in the mirror and see the little girl all grown up. After all, your fairy tale is coming true!

A half updo can be very attractive. It’s very elegant and, though, there is no crosshatch, the natural curly hair adapts to it well. A very small string of pearls interwoven at the top of the do is a unique way to add to the drama of the look. Never overdone, the look compliments the total bridal attire. A more modern updo is a contrast between an abundance of small curls and straight hair. The hair is upswept, and then on top, lots of little curls are allowed a small cascade. Keep in mind the curls are kept tight. This is a formal look that is destined to be a classic.

Another half do that has a beautiful result is pulling the hair back, and then allowing it to fall down in soft, romantic curls. This look lends itself exceptionally well to a tiara and then, if wished, accompanied by the wedding veil. This is a look that, when done well, is a beautiful compliment to the overall effect of the bridal look. After the ceremony, the veil can be removed to allow freedom at the reception as you take your first dance with your new husband. The tiara can stay in place, giving you the “princess” look and feel, as you celebrate your day.

The double Asian Knot is a well known and can be achieved with no straightening to the curly hair. The classic two looped sits at the middle of the head aligned with the ears. Curly hair lends itself so well because it is naturally thick. Best to be shoulder length or longer. If you love the look of the double Asian Knot, decide early to consider it and let your stylist determine if it’s the look for you. A few practice runs can rule in or out, and allow your stylist to get comfortable in doing your look.

In picking your veil to compliment your hair, consider the veil with the metal clip. You will see lots that are attached with a plastic clip. Go with the metal that offers a more secure fit. No need to worry through the ceremony with your veil. The tulle should drape beautifully and feel as though it moves with you. Tiaras come in several styles. You will have a choice of pearl and rhinestone, crystal and gold. Again the fit is the most important feature as it will need to stay in place perfectly. Create your look your way, and congratulations!
